Leslie Townes "Bob" Hope, KBE, KC*SG, KSS (29 May 1903 – 27 July 2003) was an American comedian, vaudevillian, actor, singer, dancer, athlete and author, with a career that spanned nearly eighty years. He appeared in more than seventy shorts and feature films, including a series of "Road to..." movies, hosted the Academy Awards show nineteen times, more than any other host, appeared in many stage productions and television roles, hosted hundreds of The Bob Hope Show specials, and was the author of fourteen books.
